I shot a bruiser with my bow and had a Burt Foster laminate "san mai" hunter and a light little forged Damascus hunter/utility from Mace Vitale.
Both are light and sharp and perfectly suited for the task. The elk was big and I had him gutted, skinned/caped and quartered in about two hours, using both knives. When the outfitter got there with his mules he handled both knives and was impressed with their edge retention compared to the production steel he was carrying.
Hell maybe I even generated an order.
I thought I would post a few shots of the blades in actual use, I know some of the makers like to see their own stuff get bloody.
