I bought the steel, measured them out, Cody ground the bevel. He heated mine while I hammered it round the tube. Then I heated for him when he hammered his out.

The pictures below are an annealing to ensure all the stresses were taken out of the blades.

Then it was forge and temper time. Which we didn't get pics of.

Mine is the one with a larger turn in the crook, his has the smaller.

As you can see we chose to leave the forge look on the blades, instead of cleaning them up. Makes for a nicer look to me.

An interesting project indeed. Projects go quicker using two minds than one, for sure.

We're considering making more... but for now I have to make myself a fancy handle like Skog. I'm not using some pimped-out stabilized maple, but I'll muster something up... Looking forward to it!

Looks sweet. Wouldn't mind one of those. Think a double edge blade is possible? That and a little shorter maybe.

Great work guys!! That's one groovey looking oven.

Glad you covered up those unsightly screws ;)

I gotta ask, aren't Adzes a bit more efficient when it comes to carving out bowls and such?

Yeah, and I am not one to complain about weight in the pack, but I am not carrying one in mine. The tool does several jobs with a fraction of the weight. Not to mentions Adzes are expensive.

True-Gransfors makes a hand adze that'd be nice and small for packing, and very useable I'd think, and you're right-the cheapest one I can find is an old beat up piece with a shredded haft for 75 bucks :/
