Just got my fax from Lalit. The Afghans are here in mid-october. He says that TB did a really good job with them (of course!). If there's an "order" thread, will somebody please find it and put it at the top. Otherwise, I'll wait until it comes in and then post pictures. Forumites will have first shot at this one, but payment will be by credit card FROM THE "ORDER" POST. That is, I'll post a button in a post that you can click on which will act just like one of the buttons on my website. Have no idea about cost yet. I have to see them and see the bill first.

Here's a pic of the original 19th century Khukuri on which the Afghan is based. Craig posted it a while back so I thought I'd bring it back into view.

Craig, what super news! I don't want to miss out like I did w/the 1st cheetlangs. You'll reserve a smaller one for me (of the bunch), won't you?! I'm counting the days!

Will do. We're only getting 10, though, so I have to make sure the "pre-registered" people get them first.

Uh-oh, I guess I missed out on pre-registration (what was that??). The cow's tail once again, what are my chances to get the Afghan on the first run? I'm sitting down, so you can give me the cold truth....

You lucky dog you! On the other Afghan thread Craig reserved the last one on your behalf, so I think you can stand up now.

Snuffy: You bring very good news. I'm blessed waaaay more than I deserve. 'Tis sweet, as the the 1st issue Cheetlang was the one that got away! Have you seen the pics and comments from those who were the chosen few? What can I say??!! There's a master knife maker/dealer (collaborated on the WW3) in the Shenandoah Valley who had very high praise indeed for it...beauteous maximus. I trust mine will also come in due course.

The Afghan seems to show similar promise as the Cheetlang, so yours will come too. And with the incredible quality that's coming out of TB's shop, another batch will be at LEAST as good.

addendum:

BLACKDOG: Great to have you back! I'm glad you enlarged this pic from the gallery, as I often go to it when I get excited about the Afghan coming. This one is very special, and of all the khukuri pics I've seen (and I've done some serious digging on the 'puter) this number is the most memorable. The 1st time I saw it I hoped to somehow get one. It's almost as if you and Craig just KNEW!
