Steve,
I thought you'd get a kick out of this. Long time ago, I pm'd you about your experiences w/ the seamaster. You gave me the good and the bad of it, and I appreciated your advice.
I finally picked one up at russell's knife event. Since Tom Krein was there, I handed it over to him to have him make it a little more of a wharnecliff. He got it back to me that same sunday morning. When I got home, I figured out how to get a clip on it (w/ advise from Tom Krein and Michael Burch; their booths were beside each other). The screws I ended up using are really ugly, but it works w/ no clip wiggle. Here are the pics. Now all I want to do is get the spike a little sharper .

Thanks,

Nice job! Keep in mind that the spike is not hardened so it won't keep a fine point really well for long.

Love the shape of it. I had thought to do that to mine but sold it when the Master Card bill was shouting pay me, pay me, pay me! ;)

I love the model. I hated selling mine to be honest because I had drooled over that model since I first saw it.

Thanks for sharing it with us Chris.

Steve,
I'm not going to sharpen the spike. I just use it for prying. I believe Mr. AG Russell is missing out on a sure thing by not putting a clip on it. The 440C holds a great edge, by the way.

Pretty sure it was ATS34 on that one. At least thats what the paperwork with mine stated. It may be different now but I didn't read about it anywhere.

Steve,
This new one is 440C blade and has a stainless handle instead of a titanium handle to make it more affordable. I'm sure the stainless handle is slicker or harder to grip when wet, but in the end, who cares- it's a high quality utility knife that cuts like a muther.
