Here's a hunter (actually my fighter style with a single guard) I finished up today. 5" forged w2 blade, 416ss fittings, African blackwood handle.

The second piece is a camp knife in sheep horn, forged 6.5" 5160 blade, stainless fittings. This knife has the best hardening line I've been able to produce. Unfortunatly I can't get a decent photo (of the knife or temper line), it looks MUCH better in person ;). I've got another one of these in the works too.

Looks awesome Matt!!

The blade finish is great and the lines are crisp. So.....when did you say you were going to get your JS stamp???????

Hey bud, thanks for the compliments. I'm working on my test knife now, so hopefully sometime soon (next few months). Let me know when you're available and I'll take a drive ;).

Matt

Looks great Matt. When you make that drive, pick me up in Texarkana and I will tag along.

Matt,
Make me one of the first one pictured with about a 8 0r 9 inch blade.
Carbon steel and ironwood. :)
Call me when you start it.
Randy

Thanks for the compliments guys. Brett, I'll definitely pick you up :). Maybe I can take it at the fall hammer in.

Randy shoot me an email if you're interested in a big one.

Very nice Matt.......... I'm trying to get some time to get that sheath going on the fighter you made me, soon hopefully.

Keep up the good work!

Looks like the kind of knife that you can use anywhere and no matter how tough the going is, it won't complain. Neither would you. :)

Boy, I like this one. I can really see myself buying one of your fighters in the near future. What steels do you work in?

Thank you very much for the compliments guys.

Dudley, I am looking forward to seeing some pics. Maybe it will encourage me to try a scabbard :).

Dylan, currently I use w1, w2, 1084, and 5160. I've got some 1065 en route that I'm going to experiment with I'm looking for a more active clay temper.

Matt those are both great lookers. The consistent blade shape and the polished clips are a great touch too. I generally prefer a handle with more "curves" but what really gets me is how thin that handle is !!! And yes, that is a very crisp hardening line. ood work. Jason.

Matt,

You and Mr. Gatlin are welcome anytime. I would be thrilled to test you for your JS too. Just let me know when you want to come down.

Bailey, thank you, I'll let you know when I get some time and I'll take a road trip.

Thanks Jason, the thin handles are "exciting" ;) to make. Glad you noticed the polished swedge :).
