Too many projects, not enough time or money.
I got this AK as a user and the paint was chipping off so I figured I'd strip it.
Well I didn't realize how gnarly it would be underneath so I decided to go for it... well mostly.
I didn't want to remove the scales so I could get all the ricasso area as clean as I would like and some of the scratches were too much to remove. Glass bead treatment would be nice but not a tool I have.
It's a full convex grind and I was very careful not to ruin the temper. Then hand sanded from 80 grit all the way through to to 400 grit. Sharpened with belts down to a leather belt so it's extremely! sharp.
The belts put a bit of a cross-grain pattern which gives it a kind of false hamon which I think looks nice.
