Yes, I am asking a similar question again. In the previous thread (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=234998), I got some very informative replies/opinions. So, while I wait for a payment to fix the damage caused to my credit card by Christmas, I am doing a lot of internet shopping.

I also like the look of the Benchmade Mel Pardue 720. Looks pretty tough - a potentially reliable and useful duty carry knife. But again, I cannot actually handle one locally, so if anyone would like to comment on the mertis of these two in contrast, I would appreciate it.

Thanks again. And a slightly early Happy New Year!

The SERE has a better handle IMO, I dont care much for metal handles like the 720 on a folder, the SERE's handles will hold up better and provide better grip. The blade style on the SERE is more usefull to me than the 720's also.
