I was hoping that anyone that has owned a custom knife made by Greg Lightfoot, or just examined one closely could help me out.

I'm about to make a custom order to Mr. Lightfoot, and plan to order a 460 Tanto with G10 scales (as an everday carry knife) and the new M-1 in Damascus (Mr. Lightfoot's fancy version) with carbon fiber scales. I've kinda always wanted a nice Damascus knife to carry at nights and on the weekends!

You folks that own a Lightfoot (or examined one)I would appreciate your opinion, as the choice of models isn't set in stone.

Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck,

I've got his Suppressor model, also used to have his 460 Magnum but sold it as I am no longer into chisel ground anything

You'll find that all Lightfoots are built very well, the fit and finish are top notch. Add to that, he surely knows how to put a mean edge on a blade! Regardless of which model(s) you choose, I'm sure that you will not be disappointed.

I just got a used LDC 102. It's a great knife. I also have a Fixed blade I think it's the C-4. You will be happy with whateve3r you get from him.

I am holding one of his fixed blades right now. (a sierra II)

If it is any indication of his work, I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose.

I'm a long time Lightfoot owner. I love his fixed blades a little more than the folders. but the folders are fantastic too. I hope to acquire one more of each soon. The folders have a reputation for being super tough and heavy duty and Greg's work is universally praised. Which model? It depends on your intended use and taste. I don't like the chisel grind that much and if I were buying a Gent's or fancy I might stay away from tanto points, but then again, Greg's tantos are distinctive. I don't think you really can go wrong with any choice of Greg's knives really, so get the one/s that speak to you. That's what I did when i bought my first two: Predator and Predator backup. Even today, every time I take them out they make me smile.

I really like Greg's 458 and 460 with the millenium grind.

I think the Supressor will be another big hit for him.

The LDC 102 features an incredible designe

and flawless execution by Greg. Yes, there are some of those available still.

Im going to keep my on the Lightfoot guy.

I own a 458 Mag Mil grind in Damascus/Carbon Fiber with gold colored screws. Magnificant in every respect. Finish is flawless and fit is excellent. I have an LCC in "Ice" Damascus on order. The difference between plain and fancy is about $200. Go fancy!

CCM- I have a 460 mag tanto which is one of the best floders I've ever owned. There is absolutley nothing negative about the knife and I have used it hard.
Go for it, without question !!

Donald

PS- CCM, if you want to see any pictures of mine just let me know and I'll e mail them to you. (I mean the knife

Guys,

I appreciate the impute. I think I'm going to do the best of both worlds. I might order a 460 Magnum Tanto with Carbon Fiber Bolsters (yes CF Bolsters, check them out on his website) with Green G-10 and Satin finish blade.

I'm also going to do a fancy knife. His new M-1 Model with Damascus blade and bolsters with Carbon Fiber Scales and Gold screws. I am having a hard time deciding on the pattern of Damascus. Mr. Richard, how does the Ice look compared to the Rose?

And Donald, I would really appreciate it if you could Email me some photos of the 460.

Again, Much Thanks,

Chuck
