I picked up my # 5 auto from their shop yesterday, and am proud to announce that it is everything that I had hoped for,I have seen his work at gun showes and worked the actions of several models but never had the chance to see in person or fire one of his auto's, now that I have one (the first one and will not be the only one)and fired it a few times I am very pleased with his work.

The Knife was only part of the exceptional experance I had with the Elishwitz's, Valerie was very understanding of the excitement I had to get the Knife I had called her more than I should have but she remained very plesant and understanding and going so far as to give me exact directions to their shop. When I arrived I as given a tour of the facility in the middle of the day no less By Allen, he took me to each machine and explained what it was and what it did.
This was my first tour of any Knife makers facility and if all of the people in this industry are as kind and informative as the Elishewitz's then this will remain a very enjoyable part of my life.

Thanks.
Les Robertson.
Allen & Valerie Elishewitz.
For this Knife buying experance.

Have you seen their new Bolster locks(Elishewitz)I might be able to get one in Jan 2000 before their next big show.
Now that you are in the deep end what do you think will be your next Knife.

Kevin.

Custom knives are so special because of the personal bond they create between the knife owner and the maker. Glad to hear that your first experience went so well!

Congrats, and enjoy!

Oh, sorry Kev. I missed this. I love the bolster locks...I'd also like to see one of his integral locks as well, but they don't seem as fancy. I like the Phantoms, Ares, Strikers, and SOME Septers. I found a demascus Ares with micatra handles I like. I just got a T12-CF William Henry carbon fiber Spear Point yesterday. It's nice too, but I'm still searching for a daily carry. Maybe I can find another Elishewitz for that...one I'd be more willing to use. I'll post a pic if I see one I really...really like. I love looking at Elish. pics. -AR

Have you seen his new models, the Cortex, Persian, and Neo? I don't like them, but the demascus one's are very nice looking. You can seem them at:

Yeah, first it was #10, then #5...but I seroiusly thought about it for 2 days, and decided that I need to save for these Chris Reeves we have comming. I got my CRK Shirt today...AWESOME!!! I am looking into either getting one of these Sebenza's or another Elish. here in 3 - 4 months. I still need a daily carry. -AR

after looking at hunderds of knives and reading all the replies at the forum i decided to spend alittle more cash and invest in a custom folder.i'm glad to say that i orderd a elishewitz ares mono with g10 overlayes.i thought that allens homepage was so great to browse through and valerie was so patient and helpful about supplying me with the appropriate information for my decision. i'll find it extremely hard to wait 5mns for my new Ares but perfection is worth the wait!!

Congrats radman
Let us know when you receive your Ares, and what you think.
This being your first custom, you are in for a firsthand experance of fine craftsmanship and top of the line materals from one of the many fine makers in the industry.

WARNING***You have now steped into the deep end to which there is no return.

Enjoy your disposable income while there is still time 5 mos I think you said

I bought a 3inch specter about a month ago. The attention to detail and bolster lock is superb.
I just emailed Allen and his wife this evening to make me two 2.5 inch bladed (mini)specters to be coiled fired automatics. One with ivory panels and one stag, both damascus with smooth damascus bolsters.
What do you think? I haven't got a reply (its friday evening) if he will even make them.
You would think when ever I looked down in the W.C I would see shiny quarters twinkling at me. I will worry about the price if I'm ever find myself in a shelter half.

Sorry man, I don't think that Allen will do any side work anymore. He's too busy. That is, unless the price is right I'd imagine.

Skillet,if you didn't get a reply, that probably means they're not around. Valerie has responded to my queries promptlyas a matter of courtesy and I know that's not out of the ordinary for her. I love the spectres, but I don't know that Allen thinks making custom Specters is a high priority, if he'll do it at all. You might want to telephone on that one. I'd love something similar, but with the CKG show coming up, I can't think that long term.
