Is there a way I could get a pair of thinner handle scales for a kershaw needs work made? I love the knife, just hate the bulky, plasticy handles on it. I have a preferrance for aluminum or titanium, but could go for steel or a cheaper material, just so long as it cuts down on the thickness of the knife and retains its pocket clip.

There are a few guys around the forums doing that line of work but I don't know who to refer you to. I'm not one of them anymore as I had to cut back on what I do a few years back when I stopped working on fixed blades and doing a lot of the things I did before like scales. I do appreciate your asking but I'd suggest maybe asking in the maintenance and tinkering forums. Maybe someone like Phil Dobson would do that for you. I'm not sure if he does that or not though. Sorry but I couldn't fit you in between what I have going on in my other work.

You might look here over at the Spyderco forum. http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50507
