Last AKTI newsletter I got just knocked me flat. I was one of THREE count 'em THREE members in Florida who had contributed to the fund to update the Florida Anti-ballistic Knife Law to reverse the incorrect interpretation made in the courts recently.

As I understand it, I could lose my right to carry my automatics if this doesn't happen.

Am I the only one in Florida that loves being able to carry whatever I want? Where IS everybody.

I'm gonna contribute again, but sheesh! Come on Floridian knife knuts, let's go!

AKTI will continue to be the clearing house for checks and we pass them right through to this cause.

For those not familiar this was where a florida court decided that automatics or switchblades, fit the definition of "ballistic knives". This made the perfectly legal automatics instantly illegal since a projectile knife or "ballistic knife" is more stringently legislated in most states. This catapulted switchblades into enemy #1 position as ballistic knives. Florida now has a more strict position against automatics then California.

And remember, Benchmade is kicking in an additional dollar to every 2 dollars donated. The overall cost was going to be around $15k so if 10k is raised BM will kick in the remainaing $5k.

Steve Corn (a florida dealer) has taken a real active role in working with Rick Watson (the lobbyist) to get this done. These folks would be more effective if they did not have to wonder about money or fundraising and just could focus on getting the legislation done.
