Am I sick, or cured?

Last week I went to a gun show with the goal of buying a new knife to replace one of my current EDC knives, a Delica and Spydie Military. I handled a bunch of knives, from Benchmades to Kershaws to Sebenzas. But I ran into a problem..none of the knives I handled felt as good as the two I use now. As much as I wanted to get something new, I couldn't justify buying something I probably won't use. Is this a new level of the sickness we suffer from, or have I been cured?

woooah buddy...you are about to enter the world of expensive knife...I havent been there, but you are on the way. Start looking th the pricy customs/semi-customs...and good luck.

I'd put your credit cards on ice, and try not to memorize the numbers.

It just means you need to save your $$ and wait for a blade that calls your name. Don't worry, it'll happen soon enough.

It just means that you've got to the place where you either want something or not. Specific requirements/characteristics are more significant than just being sharp and shiny.

Once I got to this point I bought less knives, and I have kept those I have bought.

I think that you have greatly sinned. In order for you to find forgiveness you must perform an act of contrition, namely go buy that Sebenza and send to it to a fellow BFC member (might I suggest me). Only then will you feel good about yourself and be able to look other knife knuts in the eye (or knife as it were). :p :D ;)

It's a strange thing that many leave their beautiful Sebenzas or BMs in favor of the ugly spydies...

You just need more fiber in your diet. ;) :p

I'm actually going through something similar. Yesterday my wife asked, "What knife do you want for Easter?" I drew a complete blank.
I've been so happy with the small Sebenza and Benchmade 710HS, that I hadn't worked on what knife to get next. Help!

Yeah, I kinda know what you mean. I have some extra cash coming my way soon. Been spending hours and hours online researching my next new knife. From productions to customs, to fixed blades, to khukuris, to swords even. I too am drawing a blank. Just can't seem to find that special one. The more I look, the more I get confused. Also in my day to day walk with my EDC, I just don't find that I'm using it all that much to justify a new one. I feel I'm mostly confused not cured. But I can't help it, the search continues....

Gary, I know the feeling, in my case the knives under consideration were all from JWade damascus necker to Ryan Wilson Tactical Fighter. I'm exausted but happy to find the one - Damasteel Sheepsfoot by Anso. Now all that I have to do is wait...

Sometimes if you visit a website, a knife will command you to buy it.

In this case, which is quite common, this is NOT your fault.

I didn’t know there was a dispensation for internet knife purchases, I’ll have to pass this on to the wife……………………………………….OR NOT!!!!!

Well, if you give an old dog tabasco, you can't blame him if he sneezes, right?

Yeah, I know exactly what you guys mean... I'm kina out of the mid-productions, and am starting to save up for a Laguiole or Sebbie. ;) :barf: :barf:

Kina sucks, when you don't have a job...

When you find the cure for the production bug, your case suddenly becomes worse! You then develop the custom bug!

Beware! The next stage is the art knife bug. I'm already feeling that one come on.
