An apology

I'd like to make a public apology to 99.9999% of the great people who frequent this forum. As many of you may have seen, I allowed myself to engage in a stupid and childish debate/argument with another old fart who frequents this forum. No one ever wins in that situation.

The debate could have been and should have been avoided by me simply by ignoring the other and that is what will happen in the future. Exchanges such as that have no good purpose and only serve to cause dissention and hard feelings and for that I apologise.

That sort of thing has no place on a fun and friendly forum like this and won't happen again. :o

You are a great guy Dave.

I couldn't have said it any better!! ;) Now get some sweet Buck knife pics up!!!

I realized long ago, that the ignore function made life "rosey and sweet" ;)

It's easy to let emotions overrule good judgement on the internet at times. I've let myself get involved in those situations and I know how you feel.

Your apology shows your good intent towards other forumites.

Peter

I wish there were more guys like Plumberdv in some of the 'other' forums here (there ARE, but we could always appreciate more of 'em).

Good on you Dave!! :thumbup::thumbup:

I kind of feel like a dang troll for making my comments which most likely added a bit of fuel to the fire as well. :o :foot:

Accepted, Dave. As you know I am always looking for your knife pictures and I have been learning about Bucks and knives in general while on this forum. Always good to have you around.

The real problem is that the Plumberdv took a dislike to me.

He has admitted this in print several times.

He got caught up in trying to discredit me and prove me wrong. He failed.

So, he became obsessed with following me around and picking at my posts to start arguments.

He's just the kind of guy that has a need to boss people around.

Now that he's all done with that, everything should be just fine.

A few other people could learn a lot from his experience.

:)

Heck, I didn't even know anything happened ! Still, it makes me proud to be assoicated with men who will humble themselves---. This causes the group to stand tall . Good example set . Thank you . DM

I'm guilty too Dave,I could blame it on my Irish ancestry but that's only an excuse for my drinking.:o

I read the title and immediately, without even knowing the other participant,bg-42 edge came to mind,LOL I have watched and read these forums a long long time, long before i joined up i watched bg-42 edge(with his old user name)do the same to others. You can change your name ,but you can't change YOU .Dave no need to apologize,he has been working on ya for a long time trying to get to ya,he has done it to many others and i'm sure his ignorance will make sure you won't be the last..Do what i do ignore them.

Well this reminds we of a story,
Have you ever seen a baby porcupine?

Fable of the porcupine

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions even though they gave off heat to each other.

After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth.

Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. This way they learned to live with the little wounds that were caused by the close relationship with their companion, but the most important part of it was the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.

The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but the best is when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.

The Moral of the story:

LEARN TO LOVE THE PRICKS IN YOUR LIFE

We love ya Dave

Thanks to all for your understanding. I've decided that it's sometimes best to "back off" (not to be confused with "back down") and ignore that which is a constant source of irritation.

Thanks to you too, Dave.

I like you, even if you choose to NOT like me.

I have a good sense of humor about all of the little porcupine quills and disagreements of the forum.......and sometimes we learn from them.

FIBER!?!???

Damn. Has you ever et a porcupine??? Euell Gibbons would shudder!

Being a Fisher is the main reason I like the 121 so much.

:D

I think what you mean to say is that you are a fisherman not a fisher, never mind bad joke. LOL all in fun...
