I wanted to share this with everyone,(with Rustys permission). He's having some difficulties getting back on the forum because of the change. It sounds like he had a great time.
"Compadre: I got home late last night from the Shenandoah Show. I had your Buck Legacy catalog along. Chuck, John and Larry signed it for you. I looked at the various pages and tried to decide the best place might be for signatures. I ended up with the front cover. Hope that's ok!!
Great Show. Friendly atmosphere, good and varied tables, and the displays were excellent - especially by our Club. I'm still astounded what Chuck's being there on Saturday met to the Show, their Club, attendees, and then to us. I believe that he was also taken back with how well he was received. I stood by his table most of the day just listening and learning from the Communication Master. He relates for a "Brief Period" with various people so that they walk away feeling proud. One guy even came over to me in tears and said, "I can't believe that I just met Mr. Buck." Chuck signed knives, Club caps, tee shirts and flashlights; as well as, a set of moose horns, magazines, knife boxes, and a little girl's arm cast. I stood by him in my western type dress, including a Black Stetson. Jack Foresman came up to me about mid day and said I looked like Chuck's personal sheriff and body guard. The only thing lacking was a badge. Chuck spoke Saturday night at the Shenandoah Banquet. So humble and appreciative. His lovely wife Lori was with him. She too was a hit. I bought a new version of the Club flashlight for Marj and both Chuck and Lori signed it. Special.
I interviewed Club Member Number 1 - Jim Seagle. Great guy - excellent display. I had flown into Indy and Larry picked me up. I spent the night with him at his home. Spent some quality time in his well organized and amazing "Knife Room"! It's just a small bedroom size room in his house. The knives he has are out of this world. You would have enjoyed sitting in. One of his keys is to also collect printed material. Everything is placed in order in three ring binders. He said, "I almost enjoy the print challenge anymore over knives". But then, he has most of them. We then drove to Virginia with our friend Alan Horner.
Well, it's reg-roup and suck up time this week. I head to Eugene early Thursday morning in the car with my display. I will get Joe and Bruce to also sign your catalog. Be well."
