ok, I have a knife ready for a handle, but I wish to make it a hidden-tang handle ., I have never made one such before, there is so much more to think about before I do this ...

Today at work a guy broke my slege Hammer, I have had that same hammer for 6 years,,,This is the same guy Im making the knife for. I thought it would be funny to make the Knife handle out of the broken hammer handle. It would be a story he could tell every time he pulled out this knife.

My Question- Do I have to use a nut on the end of the knife handle tang to keep it in place, or could I just glue it and that would hold it to the hidden tang?

If you notch the tang, you can just use epoxy It won't come out, ever.
If you go the other way, I would still use epoxy.
I have done many with epoxy only, never had one fail. :)

Stick tang handle. I am about to start my first. I will drill the handle wood with a long bit. I have already traced the 'stick tang' onto the handle material and marked the tang holes onto the handle material. When the handle fits I will drill the pin holes (already marked). Pins and handle will be epoxied.

Other than that I have never done a stick tang knife before and have not yet done this one.

You'll get better advise soon and both of us will benefit from reading it.
