From American Handgunner, March/April 1998. Came across it in a pile of magazines. Really, I DO read them for the articles.

I have that same article. One of the few magazines I brought with me when I relocated.
There is also an awesome CQC6 that has the 50/50 serrations. Plus a spread on Ernie's work.

Great pics of CQC5..CQC6...ES1-M plus one with the Spyderco hole. And a coupla fixed blades....I love the Rogue Warrior!

Might I ask what is ESM 1-M?

I have a Commander with an ESM 1-M stainless clip...

Might I suggest you check out the Emerson Gallery. You'll find pictures of just about every Emerson Custom model known to exist there.

Including the ES1-M:

You'll find that the ES1-M is pretty close to a Commander, except they are hand made customs, are about 20% larger overall and are Chisel ground.

You'll also find a section on clips on the Gallery as well.

Hope that helps

John

Speaking of old pictures of Emersons do you guys remember that issue of some gun magazine that featured Les Baer's Monolith .45 with a CQC-8?

It was a few years ago, but THAT was what tipped me off to my CQC-8 craving. Les Baer's guns were just decorative in the picture as far as I'm concerned

. My first Emerson designed knife was a chisel ground benchmade. It has seen quite a bit of use ...
