As title, has anyone got one?

I ordered one of Kinfezilla the other day and I cant wait.

Does it feel nice, handle as well as other models?

I don't think the feel or texture is going to be different from the satin finish at all unless you get a 42-blk. It will flip just fine, don't you worry.

what's different with a 42blk? i thought that was the same thing, only that the handles were black...? i'm obviously mistaken. so can you please correct me?

I personally like the feel of the plain BMs. I have a 42as and a 43 and my 43 is my fave to use.

The black version is powder coated (as far as I know), this process is applied by a magnetic primer where the powder is attracted to the item and then baked on to the metal, as apposed to anodized (anodizing is a chemical change in the metal via electrical current so there is no change in texture)

I don't know if BM uses the same processing to powdercoat their handles as I described but that is how I've heard it is done for automotive applications.

ok... and how does this make the handles different? are they rougher or something?

Anodizing does change the texture some. Its hard to discribe though. I have a 42S and a 42AS, and the AS is different, less friction when dry. It is rougher, but not a sharp rough like sandpaper. Does that make any sense? Its almost like its been bead blasted.... If you have never used either one, it will not be an issue. Its not that big of a difference. Have fun....

The black coating is there to add grip, and will eventually chip off. Definitely gonna stick with the plain titanium for my light saber, errr, balisong, the anodizing just looks a little fruity to me.

No, so I did my own blind taste test (handles were nice and dry), and I can't tell the difference between my 47 and my 47A. You may be right though, as anodizing is varying levels of oxidation, and that difference in the oxidation layers (multi-color) vs. the plain single texture of the grey, could wind up having a different feel. Just that I can't tell.

But the 47BLK was a dead give away in feel. Nice rough texture. Too bad it won't last.

thanks for answers to my lame-ass questions.

can handles be anodized in other colours than blue? like red or green and such?

If you search for anodizing on this forum you will find the answers to all of your questions. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the amount of voltage applied during anodization, or the amount of heat applied during thermal anodizing.

Ixpfah, you can anodize in any color imaginable, but BM only sells them in one color. They call it blue, but in certian lights I've seen purples and greens (no, I wasn't on any hallucingenics :D). Personally, I like the anodizing. I don't know why, but do I have to know why I like something, to like it?

Hey ZipTieNinja, haven't seen you around here in a while. I agree with you on the difference in feeling. It's not enough to really notice, let alone affect grip, but the difference is there. I think the anodizing comes down to a matter of esthetics. Also, plain is nice if you're looking to customize a BM4x... you won't have to worry about the fact that it will be plain Ti wherever you grind, sand or cut away the coating. Hmmm... half anodized, half plain... I could be onto something here... :)
