No digitals yet. Too much cloud cover and none of them came out so I borrowed the wife's scanner for these.

As requested the lock cut was done half moon traditional style which is not a problem from my usual pref in how I do them. Seen here you can see that the slab starts out like so and then I drill some spotter holes. Six holes to be exact marking where I want my relief cut. Then I take my little 1/2" diameter grinding wheel cylinder and outline those further just enough to mark the half moon shape good for me where I want it. Then I stick my Mizzy heatless wheel in the dremmel (variable speed Pro-Craft or Foredom depending on which is free at the time) and instead of cutting the line vertical as usual I just do it horizontally for the half moon and it comes out like so. Both ways are super fast compared to any other way I've ever done it. These Mizzy heat less wheels are one of the best kept secrets in jewelry and lab dentistry and low and behold I come to find out they make pretty short work of titanium too!

Didn't get all the requests done due to what I have available here to meet your requests and I don't really like to order a whole sheet of something rarely used when I have so much in stock now albeit a different thickness than needed so the G10 side standing alone with no liner is not done and I'm hoping the folder is finished here in these shots so it can be ready to ship out tomorrow. Guess I'll know when you see it here and reply. Personally I'd leave it this way with the liner on it for added rigidity and strength. Besides its so flawless as is I can't imagine you not lovin' this one!

Thanks for trusting me with your EDC and I hope you like it as much as the other guys like theirs.

Lock slab is .160 plus thickness titanium as usual. The rattle you complained about in the stop pin is no more but the original stop pin and lock side, w/ G10 scale are in a baggy to ship back with the folder. It can still go right back together as it came to me for what that is worth. I know you said you didn't care about that but its how I do them typically and kind of my own pref.

Everything checks out. Blade is centered when closed lock passed my tests and I am certain it will break in nicely now for you once you get it and start putting it to work. Action is like before I replaced the lock IMO. These 14s have been here so many times now for this that I'm starting to dream about building the darn things! You guys are killing me with 14s! :D

It's about time, Steve! :p

I can't wait to get your creation clipped to my pocket!

I thought about it, and I already have the "Comrade" that does the "no-liner" thing pretty well, so your F.L. conversion offers some variety and makes it even more customized than a "stock" type of Emerson Framelock - which is a good thing! (I bet it's a lot stronger than G10 with no liner as well, though I doubt I'll ever test the limits)

I can't wait to get her back, and I promise to post lots of pictures! Thank you so much for your time and hard work.

Would you ever consider "an apprentice"? If you're ever totally swamped with too much work, I could fly out for a couple of weeks and help catch you up, in exchange for your teachings of "the way". Just something to consider, and I'd be getting the better deal, I think. :D

I'm going to wait for your pictures then. I actually packed this one up and mailed it forgetting to take digitals and am running low on MB of space left for pictures anyways so it would help to have someone load some for me.
I'll pick some of yours I like to upload in my blog once you get it back and take some for here. Thanks

I'm too flabbergasted by the pure awesomeness of this thing to take pics right now!!! I've got to settle down, or I'll have "camera shake" from all the adrenaline from being so happy!!!

This thing is a real work of art, and that's putting it lightly. The attention to detail is the BEST I've EVER SEEN, seriously. I'm VERY picky, and this thing surpassed my most outlandish expectations.

The gimping on the "locking" part of the titanium slab is pure AWESOME. It totally balances out the gimping on the lower part of that side... and improves the grip ten-fold. It's the most secure, hard-use, perfect lock-up, knife I've ever seen or felt or touched. It's BY FAR the nicest knife I've ever had... now.

Thanks, Steve. You really did a wonderful job. I am very hard to impress, but your perfect attention to every little detail has completely blown me away.

Your logo is super-sweet too. It's so nonchalant and discreet, yet the design is so awesome, it should be on the outside, where everyone can see it!

I almost don't want to use this knife now, because it's TOO nice. I've been playing with opening and closing it, and it's starting to break-in nicely.

I don't know how you get that finish on the ti (bead blasted?) but it's the perfect look and grip. Not shiny, and not rough, and the beveled edges are icing on the cake.

No rough edges, anywhere, smooth and uniform EVERYWHERE! No more RATTLE on the stop pin either!!! THANK YOU!!!!

You took my favorite knife, and made it so much better that I am in total awe.

The best part is how this thing looks. It just looks like MONEY. The ti slab is WAY thicker than my stock Emerson CQC-12 Comrade as well. This Snubby is a much harder use knife than ANY of the other Emersons I have, or have owned in the past.

I really don't think there is ANYTHING on the market that is STRONGER than .160" titanium framelock with G10 AND stainless liner! (It's much stronger than those knives with only G10 on the non-locking side, and I'd be willing to bet it's even tougher than full titanium scales - such as the BM Skirmish, or CRK Sebenza, for instance)

This thing TOPS my collection as my all time favorite folder of all time. Thank you so much for your hard work and absolute perfect workmanship! STR's Backyard Knifeworks RULES!!!!! :D:thumbup:

Thanks. I'll get it loaded in my blog after you snap some pics of it.

Put some use scars on it. It an Emerson. ;)

Hey, it's not just an Emerson... it's a 2009 and a half custom STR .160" Titanium FL Emerson! :D

I didn't have time tonight to set up the strobe lights, so I made just a quickie preview video with some close-ups until I can get snapping on the digital pixelator.

This was just a quickie, so I should probably post a different, better one in the future, but here's the preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1tJTki7DmA

Thanks. I've got more coming up this month. Not 14s but I have two or maybe its three Horseman models here, and a CQC8 as well as a 13 all waiting in the safe for me.

I think I've got a A100 on the way and at least another 14 being talked about and thats just the Emerson models so if all goes as I hope I'll have those done and shipped home by month end or close. We'll see how it goes I guess:)

Steve, I managed to snap off a few pics of your masterpiece. I went for the sterile background so all the attention is on your work of art:

Wow thanks! Nice pics. Do you mind if I pick a few for my blog post?

I'm glad its a good review and not a bad one!:D

Seriously, you take some great pics. I rather like the way you did them. It allows focus on the knives with no distraction.

Thanks, man! I would be HONORED!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I made a picture slideshow dedicated your crafty work (original music):

Wow! I think you are more excited about that thing than I realized!

Nice slide show. I don't have speakers on this computer anymore. The sound card blew on it one day. Its a lap top. I never got it fixed. Not sure its even feesible because it would probably cost more than the computer is worth to fix this old thing. :D

I've got some head phones someplace but haven't had them out in forever and I'm not even sure they'll work on this thing with the sound card screwed up so for now I'll just have to wait on hearing the original music until I get back to the house on my desktop main computer which isn't even on. I guess by original you mean you wrote it or sing it or both??

Anyway, the pics I'll use. I appreciate your excitement, really, but put some scratches on that thing! Get it dirty! Tear up a pocket or something flicking it open all day! Heck if you haven't driven the wife or girl friend up the wall yet opening and closing it it ain't seeing enough use!:D

Seriously. I'm flattered and glad you like it a lot. Don't let it bite you. Gotta get back to work here now.

UPDATE: This thing is breaking in nicely. Just as I suspected, it is my EDC. My favorite part is the SOUND it makes when it locks up. It's so nice.
