Another BATAC question

I have been away for the last day or two so I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. FWIW, I did search and really found nothing on this, so...

is there a difference in the blade profile between the BATAC and the BATAC LE? Just looking at the pictures, specifically at the top of the blade, they look to be a little different. Also, the LE looks wider top to bottom. Does anyone agree with me or have I just had too much to drink? :rolleyes:
 
i think it may be the angle the two were photographed at. the le pic gives a better look at the blade profile.

however, the fbmcg and the fbmle had slightly different profiles, specifically on the spine near the handles.

so until they are in our hands or jerry can answer, it is a bit of a mystery.

I think that the only difference is:
a.) Thickness (the LE is thicker)
b.) Blade profile (the LE BAT has a 'full height grind', the CG BAT doesn't.)
c.) The coating (or lack of, in the LE's case); a lighter color gives the impression of a larger object.

The handle might be adding to the effect, the snakeskin is REG, the tigerhide, MAG. :D I hope this helps! :D

tiger hides are normally mags, but on the mrsle w/tigers, they were thicker buy not necessarily mags.

hard to tell if the batac tigers are mags from the pics.

you should probably order one just in case.

Ohh I defintely did, Morimotom!
It was about two hours after the site finially opened. (I slept in because you and I were going to pull all nighters :D ) When did you finially get your order in?

about 0630 pacific. i managed to stay up a little while longer that night, but had to get at least four hours sleep!

i ordered an le, based on the posts here i think i got in among the first twenty. havent decided which cg's i want, or maybe just another le.

You guys have interesting points. Maybe Jerry will chime in here and tell us for sure. Still, when I look at those pics, it's hard to believe that the better looking LE (at least IMO) is really better looking just because of color. I don't know...maybe another drink is in order.

Thats awesome! It'd be cool to actually see how many orders come in right at the begining.
i was going to pull an all nighter, but knowing Busse, the site could have been in that condition for a week!

I'm sorry... I should've said 'lighter colors in photos give that illusion'... IT (the LE) is of course, satin. :D I like it! I really think that other than thickness, the blades are the same size as each other. :)

i was awake when the site opened, but sleeping when the order page finally went up. if im in the first twenty or so, ill be happy. but #1 would be pretty cool!!!
