Hi Guys,

It was the upper knife, that brought me to this forum.

Now I found the second knife of this series.

I didn't find these knives in the catalogs around 1991. I would like to know how many knives belong to the BS series? Can you please help me?

Many thanks for any answer.

Best,
Haebbie

P.S.: Tomorrow morning my family and I drive to our Easter Holidays. We have one Week, that has to be enough. And for you all I wish a great Easter festival.

I think you mean BP series Haebbie! 119BP, 103BP, and I believe there was a 102BP, although that one seems to be the hardest to find!
I dont know quantities made, but if you could post the catalog #'s I'll bet Joe could find it for you! Good luck!

Actually, I thought it was the BR series.

Tom

After looking at the pictures again I see that they are indeed different than the BR series. Nice knives by the way.

Sorry Sirs,

I mistypied the letters.

But I only could find the 119 BP in the Special Project sheet from 1990, but no catalog number.

Does one of you have more Informations from the "Gold Series"?

Best,
Haebbie

Hi Haebbie!!!
All I can add about the Gold Series is that some said 'GOLD SERIES' on the blade but most didn't. Jim is right about the 102 also being part of the series. Those are the only three models I know of.....
Nice to see that you are back on here regularly, Haebbie!

Dave

Thanks for the kind answers! and Dave and Jim for the Information.

Well then, let's search the 102 BP. Or is there anybody out there who has one of it left over?

Best,
Haebbie

Good luck! The 102 is the hardest to find ;) (at least for me it is)

Well, it took you three years, but you did it!!!

Now you have to tell how you found them.

:)

There's not a lot to tell. A time ago both were offered at the four letter auctioneer. And I bought both. Now I'm searching for another 103BP then the second Gold Set will be completet.

Did they go real high in price or were people unaware of their rarity?

I know I watch a lot and I didn't see them, so maybe I and a lot of people didn't realize what they were?

Congrats on your sharp eye.

Thank you! :)

Both were offered as buy at once. They did 60 rsp. 75 USD, not too much I think. A story beside: one of the two was sent out at 03/08/11 and arrived at 07/19/11 I think it took the ship through Cap Horn and Behring Sea. I thougt it got lost. But now it went to the best :) .

Not too much????

More like an incredible deal. I'm going to have to look harder. :)

Also, thanks for the details and story.

That must have been a hard wait for the slow one to show up.

Nice find Haebbie!
Some of those 102's were originally assembled to be sent to Dave Yellowhorse by the way. He would crack the handle off and do what he does so well. When we were done with the Yellowhorse 102 projects we had extras which were sold off. Most of them were sold in the company store back in El Cajon. They were actually a model 102-22 if I recall correctly.

Thank you, Joe, for the information. But the two 102 I bought doesn't have the number 102-22. Is there a difference between 102-22 and the Gold Series? Both knives have the catalog number 8092.

Best, Herbert

The knives destined for Yellowhorse handles were only refered to as 102-22 in the factory, I should have stated that. They would have been stamped BUCK, CUSTOM, U.S.A.
Most likely the 102-22's would be in a box without a lable although I have no way of confirming that.
The labels on yours look correct.
Changing subjects, I have to let you know that your avatar picture is probably the most unique I have seen so far! I love it! It took a while to figure it out as I kept wondering why a picture of a bird? Then I finally noticed the 321 he was perched on, very nice!

Thanks for the kind comments to the birdie picture. I thought it's a funny idea. But how to get a bird to sit on a knife called Birds Knife? With food you can dress any animal. It needed one afternoon and I cold take the picture ...

Best, Haebbie
