after that glowing review. I'm very happy that you are satisfied with my work. I left the lock up kind of tight in case it wears in a little. I also like the latches larger for latch drops. It helps with the heavier handles. It can always be adjusted later if you want. Thanks again for the words of praise and please let me know how it is wearing in after awhile. I've already talked to Clay about sending one to him for a review and will also be sending one to Chuck for his opinion. I need to get some endurance testing done just to see how everyhing holds up. Have I indeed found the "PERFECT TANG PIN" :D Just kidding. I had an idea of making a sample knife that could be sent around the country for review. You could get on a list and all you would have to do is pay the shipping to the next person after checking it out for a few days. Let me know if anyone thinks that would work. It would be kind of a travelling sample.

Thanks Again,

Eric "Mer" Maier

Wow! Mer's got plastic bags. That's just great. I've been wanting some bags just like those.

Not a glowing review... and honest review. If Eric were to ship me out a crappy product, then another honest review ;)

Endurance of this knife will be in the cups of the handle. The shear weight of the handles may accelerate the deteriation of the cups fast. We'll see though. Once those cups get too deep, I think some adjustment may be in store.

perfect tang pin, eh? that's pretty exciting news.
I don't think that I'll need to evaluate it. I'm nowhere near the balisong expert that my fellow forumites are.

I trust the rest of you to post pictures and evaluations for all of us to see!

Make sure you patent the thing first! I think clay can help you out on finding procedures to do that. I wouldn't want benchmade or microtech to *borrow* your idea and hard work. And, I wouldn't want that. Keep up the good work.

around! If you tell me what was in those Christmas presents from the Should I post I just might tell you where to find them. :D

Careful Eric, you're treading on a Patented Trademark :D

Sign me up. I'd love to see what you've came up with.

Now, go back to work on Andy's so I'll be getting mine that much faster.... Can't wait, all these glowing reveiws are making me anxious. :D

Really nice and well deserved review, Jer. This guy does some incredable work, doesn't he? Great pics too.

I've been holding out hoping to find an old but good PC or BM blade to have him build me a 'custom'. Lately I'm thinking more of letting him do one one of my Jags. My personal carry is a repinned model 23, or what's mostly called the Silver Jag, because I trust the blade more then what comes nowdays with the 40 series BM's. I might as well get in the line and have him build me a nice set of handles for it, then I won't have to be so envious of yours!

Take care,

Philthy

Beautiful work!!

And Sign me up for that list!!

After you see my BM42, you might consider me to be one of your endurance testers!!

I've tried to respond to the emails you sent me and they have always been returned. Don't want you to think I've been ignoring you.

I really like the insert style of those handles more than I do the 'milled and filled' look. I know what the next style handles I'm going to get are!!!!;)

Put me on the 'Perfect Tang Pin' list, PLEASE!:D

The tang pin thing was just a joke. I was serious about having a travelling sample knife to send around though.

Darn... I was so close............ That was just plan cruel... :(

I was serious about having a travelling sample knife to send around though.
Having already played with the first you did for Dawkind, I say I miss that heaviness. Please leave my name on the list, I want to see how close the Monarchs are to yours. Thanks.

You mean, all I have to do is find a blade and Mer will make a set of handles for it?!!! I'm absolutely astonished!! Baffled even!

Well, there is the matter of paying for his services... But, believe me, it's a small price to pay for what you get in the end. That $24.95 PC looking Jag looks good now, don't it? ;)

FYI... You have just posted Eric's Phone # and Address  ... along with your own address. You may want to edit the Pics. Unless you and Eric don't care.

Not being paranoid, but there are a few nut jobs out there. :(

Nutjob #420 checking in!!

That isn't Mer's address, and you can't quite make out all of the other one...

But a little parinoia might just save your life someday...:p :(

Sweet job, Mer! :D
I hope to get to use your service some time, too.
A 'surprise me' order, perhaps. ;)

Great looking work as always Eric..., and a very nice review and photo-shoot also. Thanks for sharing that...
