Specifically I'm looking for brokers/financial advisors/planners who happen to be knife buffs. It's for a story I'm writing for a financial publication on these professionals and their hobbies.

Let me know if you can help.

Thanks!

I work at a broker/dealer in Boston...but I'm from a financial advisor. The only other knife nut I know in here is this guy in IT.

Hey Crazy Nicky,

Did you mean that you are "far from" a financial advisor? Just checking. I want to see if anyone in business (besides knifemakers) uses their interest in knives as a means to network.

Thanks!

I don't know if this fits your criteria, but I have been a credit manager and bill collector for over 25 years.

They say the RCMP always get their man. Well, screw that. Did he have a wallet with him?

I do Internal Operations...I'm not in the brokerage end of it. But I do know...when I do whip out a knife in here I do get strange looks! That's why I carry my Spydie Dragonfly to work everyday (But I keep a Greco Saxon in my car!)...The Dragonfly doesn't raise any eyebrows.

I've kind of split my 22 year career in financial services: During the 1980's, I was a stockbroker. In 1990, I went to run a sales desk at a large mutual fund company, and for the past 10 years I've been a wholesaler of mutual funds and variable annuities.

If you find any forumites that fit your criteria, and they live and work in the Southwest, let me know. If I have to buy lunch for a broker or planner, I surely wouldn't mind being able to discuss sharp and pointy things over lunch. ;)

But enough fun talk...ain't this market grand? :barf: geegee
