One of John Fitch's large blades caught my eye while I was in Nordic Knives in Solvang Ca. it was a Bowie with a 10 3/4 tool steel blade and Walnut handles, I absolutley fell in love with this knife.

Well someone bought it right before I could, I just want to hear/know about anyone that uses one of his blades. I'd be using ot for camp chores, clearing brush, chopping wood etc.

Oh, and if anyone wants to post pics of thiers I'm not gonna complain;)

I have a few,the only one I've used is the little DI hunter in the bottom pic for a couple deer, some rope and cardboard.
It worked well for those tasks.

Thanks.
The two fighters on top are 7 1/2" and 8 1/2" blades,the hunter is 4 1/2".
Snagged these right here,Gary photographed them and was helping Raj,a gold member, sell them.
I missed the mammoth fighter the first go round but picked it up later.

Here's a Fitch piece that left my collection recently. It's as close to perfect fit/finish as one could expect from a custom knife and one of the finest executed ladder damascus patterns I have seen. Ivory's not bad either. Though my photo doesn't do it justice.

I've got a Fitch Chopper that I have used to clear trails for several years. If I flitz-ed it it would look new. Great knife, I recommend them!

Was hoping somebody else would post their Fitchs.

Anybody else ? :)

I'm not sure if he is still making knives but I do know he was not at blade show this year.
I really like john and his work.

I was told that John was not making knives any longer, am I wrong?

I had heard the same thing. What a shame if it's true, as he does make very good knives.
Making knives is no easy occupation, and then there's the business end of it too which is a big task and responsibility.

NOOOO!!!!!! say it isn't so!!!!

I really hope that isn't the case, because I absolutely fell in love the bowie I posted when I saw. If I'd had the money....... anyone know who bought it?
