Any hardcore Web-Design junkies want a free knife (or 2...or 10!)

I've been putting off updating my website for so long...I'm afraid I'm never going to get around to doing it!

I'd rather spend the time making knives!

So, maybe I'll make a few "extra" to set aside for someone interested in whipping me up a kick-butt website.

Be forewarned....I did web-design for a few years before doing knifemaking....I'm not interested in beginner or even intermediate-level stuff....I want the Good Stuff.

If you do this for a living....and enjoy custom knives....then post some links here to show off your work and tell me what you'd propose for my site.

That goes for anybody, by the way.....I gladly welcome ALL suggestions!!!

Things I'd like to do with my website:

1 - Manage updates to all my production runs right on my front page. I get a lot of phone calls from folks who have seen my website but want updates on what I'm doing now, etc. I'd like the front page to be "live".

2 - I need a Newsletter manager and archive (can be blog-ish, but not necessary...just needs a good template)

3 - No longer need the Order Tracker

4 - Need a new overall Template - a snazzy one!

5 - Dynamic content is ok (dhtml, xml, etc) but no flash

6 - Have a "storefront" feel to it, one step off the front page.

So, whatcha think?!?

Any takers?

Thanks!

Dan

Dan,

Email (or PM) me. Give me a heads up on the technology you're using and what you're looking for the site. I do this for a living. I can definitely hook you up.

Have you looked into any of the content managers like Joomla?

Jim

I updated the first post to include some of what I'm looking for.

Joomla looks interesting...but honestly, I don't have the time I would need to read through it all and get it up and running. Plus, I'm leery of proprietary content-builders since I already own Dreamweaver CS4 and have been using that software for quite a while now.

Perhaps I am not fully understanding Joomla....but, then again, I don't have time to really dig into it.

Dan

Joomla is a open source content management system nothing like dreamweaver. It's really slick and a gazzilion things can be done with it.

I'm not so much into hardcore database stuff, but if you need superb grafix and template design I'm your man.

Sounds good to me!

Got any examples?

Or ideas for my site?

Feel free to post here, or email...either way.

I'm open to working with more than one person....no room for egos here!

I'll send you an email when I get out of the office. :)

Joomla is interesting, but some lower level stuff like MODx or a pure template driven site can be much lighterweight and faster. I'd suggest backing it with a MySQL database at the very least and using some PHP to make it dynamic.

Here are some sites I have done that have examples of my grafix. Since these are customer sites, I could only do so much to make them my own.

I have to think about something for you, but if you are going to work with a hardcore code monkey I would need to know what language the site is going to be designed in. I can always crank out some photoshop templates that can be sliced up for web use.
