Any Plans for Ti Paramilitary?

It would be an incredible knife. The ti slabs (with the compression lock, just like the Ti Salsa) would increase the strength of the lock considerably while allowing the same overall thickness. (the additional weight would be nominal, and a small price to pay for such a rock-solid EDC). Another added (and much needed) bonus of the ti frame would be that it could be drilled and tapped for 4-position clip placement. All four could be drilled to allow for deep-pocket carry, something the current model's configuration is sorely lacking. The design of the current clip could then be changed to something a bit more streamlined.
I firmly believe that a ti frame could elevate this already incredible knife to an even higher level. As it is, it's a great knife which I'm enjoying the hell out of carrying. The ti frame would address my only two complaints: the clip, which is mounted too low on the frame (and on the wrong end...strongly prefer tip-up) and is a little obtrusive with the exposed pivot screw design, and the thin lockbar, which although certainly strong, would truly rock if it were made of thicker titanium.
I'd have no problem paying the premium price these materials would necessitate.
GREAT design, Sal. The blade is perfect. Absolutely perfect. I've never owned a knife that just demanded to cut stuff as this one does (and I've owned a few....).
Make it out of ti and I'll pull it outa the stone.

A Paramilitary blade on an ATR-style handle. Sounds good to me. If it was available from dealers for less than $200 you could count me in.

If Sal just did a sprint run of these it would be the only knife I'd ever use. I got my Para last summer and used it more than any other knife I ever owned. I even bought an SNG around the same time... it just collected dust while the Para saw pocket carry everyday.

A ti ParaMilitary is exactly why I am not purchasing a regular ATR right now, it's a bit too big and I prefer a full flat grind for serious work.

I would be in but only if the lock is on the clip side of the knife.
I would have alot of compression locks right now if the lock was one the right side like on the Gunting.

You pinch the compression lock against the left scale using index and thumb and flick down to close, voila

I just wanted to say that I absolutely agree with this statement as far as it concerns Integral Compression Locks. On my Paramilitary, for example, I'd love the lock no matter what side it's on, but on the Integral versions like on the Ti Salsa and the ATR I'd like to see it moved to the other side of the knife, not just from a functionality standpoint but also I think the appearance would be better if it's on that side.

I currently EDC a Buck/Strider tanto, but am looking at the Manix and current Paramilitary as a new EDC (just pcis and reviews, I have yet to handle either or even see in person!).

I too STRONGLY prefer tip up, and would love these improvements suggested for the paramilitary. Tip up and thicker lock would be a blast. I would buy that knife.

One thing I wonder though (not too familiar with requirements for compression lock), would the handle have to be all titanium? I just ask because I prefer the grippiness of G-10 and the like over all metal handles (slipperyness issues.) Could one scale be g-10, and the locking side be ti? Just asking!

I love the Paramilitary, but would never buy a Ti version. I much prefer temp neutral materials like G10, or even FRN.

I have owned several steel and Ti knives. Just can't feel comfortable with metal. (Ti salsa, co pilot, worker, buck mayo, BM presideo)

I'm on board with this last group. Metal handled knives fall short in two categories: grip and temperature control.

Ever work outdoors in the winter with a metal handled knife (sans gloves)? Not fun.

Nothing wrong with a Ti Para. Just not for me. I like my Para the way it is.

Same here. If you want to toy with the design of the Para, there are other ways. How 'bout full double steel liners, for a hefty Manix-style feel but with a Comp lock and that Para scalpel blade? Or a matte CF Para with rustproof H1 steel?
