Anybody else into digital compass watches?

Along similar lines, I just got a Garmin Forerunner 201, a wrist-mounted GPS for running. It tracks speed, pace, location, etc. Very cool, but I'm just now getting started using it so I'm not sure how useful it will be, so far it's a little slow in acquiring the satellites.

Now that's high tech!

These two watches I have are neat because you always have a compass with you. The compasses can even be calibrated for declination adjustment for your area.

My Timex Expedition quit on me, but I picked up a Suunto Vector for $120. I don't use the other functions much, but the compass is good.

Too bad about your Expedition. I've owned several Timex watches and I can never seem to wear the suckers out. All they ever need is a new battery and their good for another 3 years.

I really like the Vector and High Gear Summit, but they are just too big - especially the Summit. The La Crosse is a good medium size watch.

I have a couple Casio Sea Pathfinders with the compass feature, and those watches rock!.

I don't even wear the Vector much. I prefer massive metal watches. But in the winter with heavy coats, it's more convenient and that big face is easy to read.

The Summit makes the Vector look like a miniature. When I tried on the Summit, it reminded me of the old fashion depth gauge that divers use to wear on their wrist.

Have had a Timex Expedition for quite a while (years). Stil going strong.
