Anyone here have a trouble blade? You know that one blade that for whatever reason you just can't get as sharp as your others. I have a few blades ranging from low end fixed models such as S&W to high end customs and I am able to get all of them hair shaving sharp with the exception of one. I have a BM Fecas Snipe made out of AUS8 that I can get sharp but never hair popping sharp. I have croc sticks a big ceramic hone ( which is great:D ) a diamond pocket stone ( which I hate ) and several bench stones ranging from course to fine and yet nothing I have tried from different systems to different angles ever gets the blade as sharp as I think it could get. Now 1095 is my favorite metal but I have always heard AUS8 is a good metal and easy to sharpen, but this blade though sharp doesn't even feel sharp when I rest it across my fingerpads ( no roughness ).
Anyone else out there ever have a problematic blade?

Just a suggestion, and only that friend.

Perhaps check your pressure your applying when sharpening that blade, maybe the handle style affords too much grip strength and makes you put too much on the stone/ceramic.

Idk, its just an idea, i have had a knife that had a agressive grip, i had to learn to ease up on the applied pressure with it in hand when sharpening.Especially when using Ceramic or Stones.

Ymmv of course.

Just an idea.
