Anyone actually using their Sifu for more than a defensive carry?

Just got a Sifu and I must say I love this knife. It is a keeper and a definite carry blade. I also fully intent to use it for many purposes(but will never abuse it), anyone else put their Sifu to work on a daily basis?
I am also curious about overall confidence in the knife, lock and all. I have read some interesting threads lately and am curious about comfort factor with this knife.
Care to fill me in?

I consider my Sifu as a 'special' blade, especially since even though a large blade it difinitely rides extremely well clipped to right front pocket. That being said I have to admit its not my daily regular carry, but trade it in on the rotation with some other special blades on different occassions. As far as regular use goes it does see some 'special' duty since its the only folder I have that can reach clear to the bottom of the peanut jar without mucking up the handle.

The Sifu is a big strong folding knife, and I am sure there is an infinite variety of tasks for which it will excel, but to a certain extent, it is a specialized design. For hard utility, you would probably rather have a handle without the finger notches and maybe a not so swoopy blade profile as well. The handle is over six inches, and at some point, you might rather have an 8" oal fixed blade. I love the Sifu, and think it is extraordinary at being itself, but I wouldn't say it is an excellent all around utility cutting tool.

Just ordered mine (thanks John for that wonderful haggeling Thur.). I hope it makes the cut as a big utility folder and into the relm of daily carry. I was thinking of a mod a la bootshank, but we'll see. It its just to big, i might exchange for a Carny (I know most people write "Carnie", but i like the weird circus reference). I'll let you know if it makes it in as a daily carry or not. E

Funny timing. As I write, Sifu#1 is sitting open on the arm of my chair as I wait for "Voyager" to come on...and it's got Nectarine juice on the blade

So, Jim, are you slicing or stirring?

Well there you go. One man's gothic death maching is another man's paring knife.

I carry my SIFU daily, maybe it's because i wear mostly baggy pants, i found there's hardly any discomfort. Unless you are doing a lot of climbing, you might feel the handle pinch you a bit. Although i love this blade 100%, i have to aggree w/ threads above that SIFU is not really well suited for regular uses. It's just a bit more blade for opening a letter. That's why they designed pants with more than one pockets
