Just wondering if anyone has heard from Corduroy, by any method. His apology was posted on 2/9/2000, and it's near the end of the month now. He promised to contact us, but I haven't heard a thing. I've been trying to contact him to just find out a bit of info, but no luck.

Thanx...
Chad

Have you hugged your knife today?

Thanks for the reply, Carver. The last I heard from Ogre was the same; he hasn't heard from him, either.

Haven't heard anything either.

I'm willing to give him some more time. I'd rather have the work done right at a comfortable pace for him than quick and sloppy because of the pressure.

Am I worried.....a little, but, I'm sure I'll be pleased when I get my blade back though.

Well,
I'd be willing to give him addt'l time, too, but he hasn't contacted anyone like he said he would, which is what I don't understand. My knives were nearly complete last November!

Folks, Drew stated he'd contact all of us so as to give us the option to have our knives returned "as is", in case someone would've wanted his/her knife back sooner. Since he's n/a, we can't even exercise that option. I just sent a certified letter (with a return receipt attached) to his shop, and it was signed for. I believe Ogre did the same, without a response as well. In mine, I enclosed for him a self-addressed, postage-paid postcard that he could just scribble a message on and drop into the nearest mailbox. I received the return receipt from the cert. letter over a week ago, but not the postcard. I just don't understand. Maybe he's ashamed of the situation, but there's no reason to be ashamed. He had a perfectly logical explanation for being "away". But, I just don't understand why someone won't return a postcard that's basically "ready to go"!!! Hell, all I wanted from Drew was an estimate of how far the project had progressed or where he left off. That way I could've made a decision as to whether I wanted him to do the extra steps or not. As is, I haven't been given that option. Very aggravating.

I know Drew is good, so I can't explain the lack of communication, other than what he's already said. To me, it seems that a post card reply or even better, another post here wouldn't be too much to ask, but I don't know the situation. I DO know that Drew is hardly even in the shop anymore because of work. Maybe someone should send another letter to is home address. Is that the "Sharon" address? If so, I have it if anyone NEEDS it, I suppose I can give that via email unless otherwise advised. I can't remember which address is the shop, and which is home. Maybe his lovely girlfriend Beth can comment. I BELIEVE IN YOU DREW!!!

Jackyl, you certainly seem like a good person to me and a true friend/fan of Corduroy. But, this Drew thing is a mess, undoubtedly, and it's for real. It doesn't make any sense. As far as I understand, the Sharon, MA address is his shop. I have that physical address and no others for snail mail. None of the Andrew Gleasons available on Internet search engines are genuine, I've contacted them all.

I sent a letter to Drew`s home address tuesday, past.I`m not ready to give out his addy but if I recieve a reply to my letter i`ll certainly let everyone know.I`m with Jackyl on this.I know Drew is good for his obligations.I`m more worried about Drew then I am about my knife. There must be something serious going on for him to be doing this.C`mon,Drew!Talk to us!You`re among friends here.

Yup. My worry is how/why the communication lines are down between us and Drew. Can't anyone find out?

Hi Chad et. al.

I may be able to give some info here on the lack of communication. Drew's shop in Sharon Mass is actually his parent's home. So your registered letter was more than likely signed by his mom and is sitting there waiting for him to get home unopened. Drew works and lives quite a bit away and I believe is only getting a day to a day and one-half a week in the shop. I know his net access is limited at his Sharon address, too. I can't comment on the status of everyone's modifications but when this started hitting the fan, Drew called me and assured me that he was going to work on the orders but would only be able to do so a few days a week or slightly less.

I haven't talked to him since and maybe something is happening at work. He is in charge of stocking a brand new WalMart and I can imagine that the pressure to get everything ready for the grand opening not to mention the knife orders completed is immense.

I wish I had more answers for you guys but this is what I think is happening. I hope it resolves for you as soon as possible. I too, have great confidence in Drew as a person and a maker and if I was to advise him as a friend, I would advise him to return all the knives and perhaps they could get done at a later date.

Sincerely,

Well, thanks Greg. I figured the shop address may have been his parents home by the signature on my return receipt. I just hope Drew will open the lines of communication very soon.
