Anyone know why Sears will no longer sell knives in Texas?

Earlier this year, I purchased a Case pocket knife from Sears.com and received it with no problems. Now, they will no longer ship to Texas! Did the law change or is Sears just ignorant of law? I have emailed customer service and they always give the same pat answer that it is illegal to ship pocket knives to Texas, and about a dozen other states. If this were true, how come every other retailer around the country has no problems sending my orders?

Normally, I wouldn't bother with them, but every once in a while, they put Case on closeout at fantastic prices. I have missed out on two in the past couple of months due to their refusal to ship to Texas.

Anyone have any insight on this, or know where I can locate the laws pertaining to this?

Thanks

They only carry filet knives online from what I've just seen. If filet knives are illegal in Texas, sheesh, what is this world coming to?

Texas ain't liberal nor progressive.... believe me I am trying to live here. This is not a political issue anyway.

I know absolutely nothing about this, but my WAG (wild a** guess) is that it is a Sears issue and not a Texas issue.

I suspect they don't ship to New Mexico either because they don't ship 'international'.
