Hello folks,
Picture is too big for being in here, clik link and you'll see.
http://www.student.khleuven.be/~0101747/unknown.jpg
All I know about this one is that it's made by a German dude in south-Africa, name sounded like Rosenthal. That is what the dude who got me this knife said.
What i can see about the knife : soldered on guard in two pieces, sculped ebony (or something that looks very much like it - it feels waxier and seems finer grained, olour is a tad more red then ebony) handle (sculped very nice), carbon steel blade, differentially HT'ed, feels like O-1 or 1095. Has an old patina on it from being in a closet for a decade or so.
It was no amateur who made this, the perfet blade grind and the soldering prove that. It was no full time professional either, as there are bubbles in the solder at two points.
I know it's a hard one, but does anyone know anything about this.
greetz & thanks in advance, Bart.
