Anything better than Camp Dry?

Looking for any options which will provide longer lasting and more effective water (and stain?) protection for nylon-type materials than the standard Camp Dry. Specifically, it will be used on Pearl Izumi trail running shoes, and various jackets (both with and without a gore-tex membrane). I've been using Camp Dry for many years, but especially on footwear the performance never seems that great. Any suggestions would be great!

Anybody try Nikwax? They have a plethora of products for specific fabric waterproofing but no info (that I saw) on what they use to accomplish this.

Also, I have had two garments (one Sear's Craftsman flannel and one Trek shop shirt) which stated they were treated with Teflon to resist staining which turned out to wormk very well as a water repellant- but I've never seen such a product sold, any thoughts?

I have a pair of gortex merrels that I have had for a few years, they are ok. I also have a pair of gortex matterhorns 10" combat boots, outstanding performance and waterproofing. The difference is the height of the shoe. For running shoes I don't really care about waterproofing, its more about how quickly they can dry out. Also I think waterproofing sprays and waxes don't let your feet breath which just means your feet are still gona get wet. Also remember to buy the campdry that is for gortex fabrics, it more or less restores the gortexes waterproof abilities.
