What the hell does this have to do with balisong?

And, or else what? You're talking to a group of people that likes to play with knives here...

Also, not sure I like this, as I'm not comfortable with the idea of withholding balisong knowledge from this group.

What are you afraid of asking in public? Or is it that you can't learn to wait for the responses? Both are characteristics that I'm not sure I want my IM buddies to have. :confused:

aol instant messenger is faster than e-mail or posting.
if someone is on,then another member sees it,and they can chat in real time about whatever...
its not about with holding info from anyone...its about spreading more info out.

thank you.....i don't know much about balisongs but what i read on hear....and that's fine....i would like to be able to ask someone a question and not wait three days for an answer......i'm new to this forum....and i like the people on here...that's all
 
Contender, if you click on 'profile' at the bottom of a member's post, they may have included their AIM handle there.
 
Maurice: I know the advantages of IM, and I do IM with certain people on the forum. But they are people I trust and we usually talk about things that we've had in conversation for a while. Given Contender's recent display of behaviour, I not sure I would want to add him to my IM buddy list. If for no other reason than that, right now, I don't feel he would gain anything privately that he couldn't learn by asking those same questions openly. I do see the advantage of keeping most of the trivial stuff off list, as the common beginner questions are very often repeated. And that's easily avoided if they would just perform a search for the topic before they post arbitrarily. And if you re-read the very first post again, can you honestly tell me that you've read that to be an invitation to IM?

Contender: Waiting three days for an answer often reflects the forum's wilingness to respond. They will usually share if they feel what they are sharing will be respected. Apparently some have chosen to no respond at all to any of your future posts. I'm not surprised that you've alienated these people, given your "stand" on certain behaviours that they find offensive. A forum stays friendly only if the people within stays friends. And since most of us don't personally know you, we can only judge you by what we see of you on the forum. Unfortunately, you have not given us much to work with.

Exactly. IM is a two way conversation. And I guess you've decided to not have any with me. You don't ever have to prove anything to me, your postings speak loudly enough. BTW, I don't take this forum seriously, I take what I share about my passion for balisongs among "FRIENDS" seriously. Don't confuse the two. Grow the f*ck up. Your friendly intentions aren't showing up in your f*cking posts. Now go off and die in my Ignore list.

Before beginning your search for Balisong knowledge -Contender-..., I have one more suggestion..., it's a real one.., not sarcasm!

Go to the American Psychological Association's website...

Do a few searches on "Seeking Negative Attention". There are also a couple of interesting articles from Canada's Psychological Association ~~> http://www.cpa.ca ...so you may want to take a look at a couple of those also.

You may read some stuff that sounds sort of like you in these articles..., but maybe not?

We have lots of different folks that come and chit-chat about our favorite knives -Contender-..., and it's too bad you got off to a rough start on here.

I've personally never seen anyone in here that I'd consider "mean spirited".., but I think if you review some of the stuff you've said during "visits".., you might tend to see that it all could have been avoided.

You might also want to review some of the posts Tony makes to everyone that comes in here..., because he is one of the most helpful people...to everyone.., on any of the Forums..., and doesn't ignore or leave out people that are just getting started. When I mentioned "style" and "class" in another post.., it was just a suggestion. Obviously you took it as an insult....(which was probably my fault). I do think you can learn some stuff....honest...even from a REALLY OLD guy like Tony :cool: !

I'm actually much older than Tony is -Contender-..., but I make up for my geriatric deficits because I'm also dumb.., slow-moving.., and sort of "low maintenance" :) !

I was glad you took the time to review those websites I gave you.., and REALLY GLAD nothing fit :) :D ;) <~~ very good news!!

Just relax and have a good time with this stuff.., Tony and I have nothing to do in "Life" but talk about silly knife stuff.., and certainly having nothing against people that want to join in and have fun.
