I've ordered one from pocketlights.com - has anyone used this supplier. They say the lights will be shipped in September but I'm not holding my breath.
Arc LS gets good reviews, do you have experience of this light?

GREAT LIGHT! Blows a Mini-Mag out of the water!
Soild built and there is a good chance you'll get
version 2 (LS2), Which should be even brighter then mine. :D

Check out the Arc Lights sub-forum on Candlepowerforums.com

You'll love it, Now you need a Arc-AAA to match!

I have one, I use it strictly with the 123A battery carrier. There is simply no competition for it. Small enough to fit in a watch pocket, tougher and brighter than 2xAAA incandescents, much more useable beam than a Surefire E1. Regulated, and great burn time coupled with a lot of light for the size. I can't say enough about how much I like this light.

Things will get interesting once Surefire introduces the KL1 luxeon head for the E1. Until then, Arc LS has no competition, either from other LEDs or from any incandescents, IMO.

I like mine! I've only used it with the 2AA battery tube, guess I better try some 123's and see how it works. I got one of the seconds and for the life of me I can't figure out what makes it a second. As far as pocketlights.com I've bought some things from them at local shows, they seem like good folks.
Stay Safe,

From what I've heard about Arc, you just might get one of the first LS2s.
The Arc-LS is now referred to as the LS1 because it is/was the first generation of their new Luxeon Star flashlight.
The Luxeon Star is the brightest LED made and Arc was one of the first to utilize it in a flashlight.
The LS1 is now being phased out to make way for the LS2 and LS3.
If you pre-ordered a while ago it would be very much in keeping with Arc's excellent customer service for them to start shipping their latest product.

The LS2 was supposed to be a purely transitional piece until the LS3s are released.
The LS1 and LS2 both use a 1-Watt LED but design changes and LED improvements make the LS2 a much brighter light.
The LS3 uses a 5-Watt LED but production difficulties with the LED supplier are making production forecasts difficult and it has been surmised that the LS2 just might stay around a little longer than was originally expected.

I'm sure the Arc LS is a great light, but I just couldn't choke down the $150 price tag.

I already have an E1, so I hope SureFire comes out with KL1 Luxeon assembly soon!

MSRP has now dropped to $120 with street price being even lower. Dealers should start getting them soon (within 3 weeks).

Great, Kev. You had to go ahead and test what little restraint I had for conserving toy monies... :grumpy: :p ;)

BTW, have you become enamored with pirates, or are you now too a Jimmy Buffet Parrot-head?

Arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh matey! Ye scurvy dog!

Ok, Get a new one here for $82 (I'm think about doing this
myself but since you may get iether a LS1 or LS2 and I'm
really only interested in a LS2, Since I alreally have a LS1)

Here is some more about this from CPF:

I normally use the 2xAA (it replaced my Mini-Mag for EDC)
and Only use the 1x123 when I need to cut down on size.
I use the 1xAA for a night light, So I don't blind myself!

Also CMG just came out with a LS based light. The one I have is
quiet nice, It's about as bright as a BRAND NEW Mini-Mag,
Runs for 10 hours full bright, Then fades over the next 100 hours.
Runs on 2xAA, Waterproof and ofcorse CMG great warrenty.
MSRP: ~$30 (Brightguy.com)
