Hello!
I just browsed over to the Emerson web-site at www.emersonknives.com . To my surprise, under the Production Knives category, only a Black-T finished Commander was listed.
I was under the impression that satin-finished Commanders were once available, but now discontinued, and these were supplanted by a bead-blasted finish model.
I personally love satin finish blades, strongly dislike bead-blast for its lack of corrosion resistance, and outright refuse to carry a black-coated blade since I can never use it in public without drawing significant attention. Please tell me that the Commander, which took quite a while to save up the necessary funds, is not just limited to the Black-T finish now!
Talk about crummy timing...
Does anyone know if the Commander is still offered in satin or bead-blast, or if there are any plans to re-introduce them in the future?
Ian
