I may be going to Sedona and Tucson, Arizona soon and was wondering if there are any custom makers in the region worth checking out?

Thanks,
please email.

Steve

Steve,

I can recommend two makers in Tucson: Don Norris and John Brown. John's email address is jbknives@flash.net, and he knows Don Norris, too.

Website for John is http://www.flash.net/~jbknives

Arizona is blessed with quite a few fine makers - Butch and Judy Beaver, David Boye,
Matt Conable, Vince & Grace Evans, Tai Goo (Tucson), Tim Hancock, Steve Hoel, D'Alton Holder, Tim & Marian Lively are just a few that live in Arizona. Bill Randall also lives in Tucson. Rick Genovese - Sedona.
I would bet most are pretty busy right now getting ready for the Blade and or Guild Show.

SGM,

Here is an update on some of those makers.

Butch Beaver is no longer making knives. Rick Genovese is in Prison (Breaking and Entering/Burglary).

Tim Wright is in the Sedona area.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Steve: Tim Wright can be reached at 520-282-4180. He makes one of the best kitchen knives out there, and, way underpriced IMHO. Also, high end folders that completely disassemble with a special wrench. Among the smoothest I have ever seen.

Steve,

Just back from a week in Sedona. Made a special trip to visit with knife maker, Michael J. Hull in Cottonwood. Worth the effort, ordered one of his "palm skinners".

He can be reached at 520-634-2871
1330 Hermit Circle Cottonwood, AZ 86326.

Tell him that Lamar Smith said hi.
