Atlantic Salt and water bottles

After doing K9 SAR on Boat Crew in NOLA, I've found myself looking for a new knife for a very specific application. With NOLA being a HazMat, the only safe way to feed my K9 Water was directly from fresh water bottles. Anything else became to quickly contaminated. Each time I wanted him to drink, I'd take a small clean plastic bottle of spring water, slice the top clean off, and now he'd have a safe little dog bowl to drink out of. Needless to say, my S30V Spyderco Military now has some corrosion issues. I'm now going to look at purchasing a knife just for this application. The knife will have to be corrosion resistant, well made, and will have to be a plain edge. It will have to be a plain edge because serrated edges can create sharp edges on the water bottles. The Atlantic Salt looks perfect, but I am worried that the tip might not be able to pierce a plastic water bottle. Also, is there any hope that a Spyderco Salt will be able to handle around 40 or 50 bottles between sharpening? If not, what would you guys recommend? What steel has enough edge holding ability, while still being corrosion resistant?

I think the tazman salt would work very well, but I don't think it's out yet. It's a hawkbill salt.

I'm sure the tip would work fine, but probably not like the needle tipped military.

As far as I know H1 is the best possible steel when it comes to the combination of corrosion and edge holding ability.

Here is a closeup of the h1 pacific plain edge. The tip looks like it would puncture a water bottle fine. http://spyderco.com/catalog/closeup.php?product=170

Good luck with your dog.

Edit: approximate word is the tazman will come out this month, this is coming from tazkristi...

How on earth did I not notice a hawkbill Salt was finally being made? I've been waiting for this one for a long time.
