Let's see if Hollywood can ruin this one. This might ruffle more feathers than V: For Vendetta. ESEE Crew Movie Night at Jeff's place. I'll bring the projector!

by the looks of the trailer i need to finish the book as well. my uncle suggested it but told me it was kinda slow.

My wife never got what the big deal was with that book. She wasn't impressed. I haven't read it so I have no opinion and don't foresee ever doing so.

One more thing... the above avatar never gets old...I can stare at it for hours, feel free to post more :D

Part 1...I wonder how many they plan on doing.

Hank's brother is just how I imagined him haha..

Interesting... thanks for posting! It looks like they added too much Hollywood glitz, but it should be better than The Fountainhead movie at least. But that Toyota that Dominique was driving has nothing on the Hammond Ayn Rand described...

Galt was Rand's wet dream. Dagney and Rearden were fools. The only people that had any sense in the novel were Ragnar and Francisco. Trailer looks pretty good though and I will see it as soon as it is released. Great novel. Probably the best book I have ever read (3 times) regardless of Rand's screwed up writing style.

Oh, I know John Galt.:)

Agree about Rand's peculiar writing style. But then, Rand wasn't writing a book for fame or money ... instead, it was all about a rather peculiar philosophy.

I've never read the book, but heard a lot about it. The trailer looked really good! Part 1, I wonder how many they plan on doing???

By the way, the girl in that movie is hot!:D

It's a good story, but it was the most difficult book I've had to read in a long time, and I consider myself an avid reader.

Read it 41 years ago to shut my wannabe Hippy sister up. Read Rand's other books. Rand always struck me as the "Do as I say, not as I do" type. ... I'll have to wait for the movie to be released in Japan before I'll get to see it.

I went to IMDB and looked up the cast list...not one "big" name. This is good. If they were to cast Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt (both were rumored to be in it), it would become an "Angelina Jolie" movie instead of just a damn movie.

I can't wait to start reading some reviews on this by people who don't "get" the story...it's going to be irritating to say the least.

I was in 6th grade, she had read it (in 9th) because her best friend was convinced it was "steamy" - I think I had a better handle on it. She isn't a hippy now, and I still view her as misguided.

I'm pretty positive the book I read afterwards was "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress."
