I've been experimenting with HTing (D2 so far) and have been having a difficult time finding concise information regarding low range tempering of ATS-34. My understanding is that the low range temper increases rust resistance and may improve the grain structure.
Specifically, I am wondering if (1) anyone is using the interrupted oil quench, and (2) if using an air quench, what is the highest rockwell I can expect to achieve. I would like to be able to get a 60 RC, hopefully without resorting to an interrupted oil quench. What specific HT formulas are you using?
TIA,
Brett
