Can you post pictures of the Edgeworks sheaths? I am seriously considering getting one made for my jungle model.

Also, what is the steel used in the Jungle model? What is the standard RC hardness of the blades? I sharpened it this weekend an it sharpened really easily which made me think the steel could be really soft but it held an edge really well while doing yard work.
The knife got scary sharp and bit me twice while sharpening. I've never had a knife bite me TWICE...!!!! This coupled with the "bugs in the sheath" dilemma makes me wonder if this knife is possessed....!!!!!

Sheaths can be bought for your khukuri for $42.00 (if memory serves). And if you do a search on this forum, you'll find the pics in an older thread. I'm sorry, but I no longer have them on my hard drive. Can anybody help find them and post them here for Orion?

The rockwell hardness varies, I'm sure, depending on which kami made your knife. They develop a rhythm, so that the knives from each kami are consistant. Of course, trying to figure out who made what would be a real task!

One of my projects while in Nepal will be to photograph each Kami for publication on the website. And, if kamis generally specialize in one particular khukuri style, then I'll post that info too.

And about biting-khukuris: I have been bitten more times than I care to imagine. Those babies really do slice finger flesh! I almost think the mini-jungles should be used only for cutting and whittling due to their size. Almost like shooting a PPK - the size can cause your fingers to get in the way!

The sheath looks very nice.
Does it have a retaining snap strap or does the handle just kind of "snap" into the throat of the kydex? Also, what is the belt loop made of?

Orion, Yes, it does have a retaining strap. I don't remember what the belt loop is made of - I think it's ultra-heavy duty nylon.
