With all the talk going on about how difficult it is to keep the forrums going, I decided to read the "donation" section on the front page. I will be donating a knife soon to BFC, I have also sent out a check with a small donation. I wonder, how often do us members actually donate to the forums? Mike, I think it would be a good idea if members could sign up to have a monthly donation of whatever amount a member chooses, to be billed to their credit card. It would not be manditory, but a donation. I think this is a small price to pay for such a great place. I doubt I am the only one who would do this, even if only 1000 members sign up at $1 donation every month, the math is simple. I would think the real regulars of the forums would contribute. I have no problems having $5 billed to my card every month, it makes it easier than remembering to send a check every month. Is this a good idea? would it work? Lets all try and come up with ideas, I dont think the responsability should be on Mike and Spark only. The forum is for us you know.

It is a good idea but I would like the forums to still have the FREE feel. We should be able to support the forums through ocasional sales of knives. Sure a few will not like the commercial nature of the forum in that regard but it is necessary.

I do hope when the online magazine comes out that at least 1,000 people sign up for it. That would probably be a better deal and if they can subscribe to a rag mag they should be able to subscribe to ours if we do it right.

Mike,
The forums would still be free, I am not sugesting you change anything. I just think it would make donating easier if we could do it by credit card. If members wanted, we could have the donation automatically charged to our card every month, or just once, which ever we chose. I think the ease of opperation might get more members to donate on a regular basis, I know I would.

Okay, I was joshingabout emailing it. Does the knife have to be new?
I also like the idea of a CC charge.
In any event, count me in on the Online Mag. As long as you PROMISE I don't have to throw the used issue into my recycling pile!!!

Anyway anyone who wishes to donate to BF may do so by either sending or emailing the appropriet info to us. We will do whatever you guys want to keep this site afloat.

My real suggestion is to buy your knife accessories from the BFC Store and get a subscription ot our new on-line mag.
