I was shown an automatic knife by a seller and it's a Spyderco. However, looking at the stamp, it seems to be a fake.

Does Spyderco offer autos? What models? If you can have pics/links, that'll be helpful ..

You'd think that a criminal maker of fake goods would do the 10 seconds of homework and figure out who really makes what.

And now I'm off to play my gen-yoo-wine Chevrolet Stratocaster.

Hi Chris,

It's a fake.

We do not, at this time, nor have we in the past, made autos.

it's the " not at this time" part that i like..i can't wait till it happens..it will..and i think that it will be a brand new mechanism used to open it that they will design..

Thanks Sal!

I need to know that my gut feeling is correct .. still able to detect fake POS from the genuine quality item .. :D

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year!

Hi Rugger,

That's certainly a possibility, but I'd not heard of anyone doing Spyderco's.

We have been able to purchase "Spyderco Automatics" on the internet. Had our bug logo on the blade. Don't know where the design came from, it certainly didn't resemble anything we've done.

Usually, it's an importer bringing in a small amount from China and trying to "make money any way they can". I think some view "marketing" as "saying what sells".

A fellow on TSF did a Spyderco conversion a year or so ago. Very cool!
