HI GUYS,

I'VE BEEN LURKING AROUND THE FORUMS FOR A FEW MONTHS, AND FINALLY BOUGHT A KNIFEMAKER MEMBERSHIP. I RELIZE THIS PROBABLY ISN'T THE FORUM TO ASK ABOUT THIS, BUT YOU ALL SEEM SO DARN FRIENDLY! HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET A PICTURE DOWN TO 120x120 PIXELS FOR YOUR AVATARS? ARE YOU USING DIGITAL CAMERAS FOR THESE, OR SCANNING THEM. I DO HAVE A SCANNER, BUT NOT THE CAMERA, AND I CAN'T SEEM TO REDUCE ENTIRE PICTURE SIZE, JUST TAKE PIECES OF THE PICTURE. ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT I'M TAKING ABOUT?:(

It's easy to do with photo editing software. If you don't have any, send me the picture and I will fix it and send it right back to you.

Clint, welcome to Shoptalk. I hope you enjoy your stay.:D

Adams, welcome to BFC yourself. It's nice of you to help out.

Adams, nice of you to offer, and welcome again to both of you. Clint, using software like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, and probably most photo editing software that comes with cameras and scanners, you can use the "Image Size" function to make your pic any size you want.

Hey, look at that, it works! I don't know why I couldn't find the re-size picture thing before. Thanks again for your help, gents.

Hey guys,
That's a question I have been wondering myself. Have a digital camera but don't have a scanner. Also, what software does it tak to reduce the pixels and all that. This is all a language I do not understand. I have a pic that I wanna use but don't know how. Thanks.....RDT

I have an old tutorial on my album site on how to do an avatar.
Of course it's back from when the max size was 50 X 50 ppi, but 120 X 120 is a lot easier.
