Fellow bali enthusiasts:

Someone mentioned a cheap damascus butterfly knife being auctioned at gunbroker.com at here a while ago, so i decided to check it out. It was pretty cheap, so i thought, even if it's a piece of crap, what do i have to lose? well, as it turns out, i got scammed.

I won this auction (from matt/patricia cowling/pawn221)well over a month ago, sent payment promptly, and have heard nothing since. Paypal's mediation service, says that he has no money in his account, so i can't get reimbursed.

i should have known better - they had no feedback at the time i bid. they have 4 negatives now.

So watch out.

Sorry to hear about the scam. That pic looks like a total phony though. I work with computer graphics all day, so I can kind of tell where things are questionable.

Like on the handles, where they meet the blade. On the bite handle, the reflection from the light ends abruptly and the hilt starts. If that were a real knife, the blade looks like it would actually be connected to the handle. Kind of like some strange M.C. Escher knife.

Again, sorry to hear you got burned.

bloody knuckles-

thanks for taking a look. it looked a little odd to me (nothing like extant bear balisongs), but i thought nothing of it at the time. seems like a lot of trouble to go to for ~$20 or so.

live and learn, i say.

I had bid on those too, Just to get a blade for MER to re-handle, and I figured, "what the heck...$20.00 or so", but I always got outbid...
I'm sorry about your experience..That really sucks.:(

From what I've heard it's not really worth that. Sorry to hear you got ripped off. It's people like this who make it hard on the rest of us.

It looks like you and another person got ripped on the same knife listed twice. I hate to hear that you got ripped. :(

A shortie :( ...geeeeeeesh you guys.., don't jump on anything that says "Damascus"!!

And Blade! Honest..., the channels on one or Eric's handles are worth more than the blade of one of those knives. I don't like to get into the "bashing" stuff.., but just don't throw away your money.., those blades are junk!!

Edited 12/17.., too repudiate "bashing"

that's too bad. i got scammed once too, but not with butterflys, that was with 2 nokia 8850s. :(
but scams are scams, and they all suck.
try to find out personal information on the seller, and go pay him a visit! :D or at least report him/her to the police.
