Can anyone tell me about this axe? Who made it? Is it worth fixing up and using?
I think I got it at an army navy surplus store. It's kind of beat up and I am wondering if it is good enough quality to fix up or should I just get a better one. Thanks

Yes it is Hultafors now but when this axe was made it was Hults Bruk
this axe was made to the Swedish Army .Thats why they have the three crown mark on it.
It´s the same axe as AGDOR axe but green and the weigth on this serie of axes are 0,6- 0,8-0,9-1,0-1,2-1,5-1,75-2,0-2,2 KG the 0,3 kg is not made no more.

a little reprofiling an it should cut well,i dont know if the handle is still in workable shape...but a quality axe head cost a least $35 + the handle maybe $15-$40

a complete quality axe

Iltis ox-head $80-$100 (very good axes)
Wetterlings from Sweden (very good axes) $75
Gransfors Bruks Sweden (top quality) $115

You have the same quality in this axe as you have in a gränsfors axe so i think you get your self a good axe. Same steel .same forging method ,same hardinig ,same handle company made the handle .
so grind it up and you get a top quality axe.
If you don´t find a handle mail me and I send you one .

Wow thanks for the quick answers. The handle is glued in with some kind of brown epoxy, it is going to be a pain to get it out, but I need to because the handle is in bad shape. I appreciate the help. Now I will have to start looking for a good handle. Thanks again.

I have look this axe up more and the paint on it are a good camouflage and even protect you from a IR search
