Hi General. We have plans for a Mil jr short run in BG42 as a test for the design and the steel. Probably about 150 pieces.

They won't be available to the general market unless the test goes well.

Hey...

I'm also interested in a baby Military. I love the design of the Mil, but I really dont care for large knives....

Keep us updated please... and, oh, how about a pic?? Especially with a ruler or coin or something else so we can get a feel for the size...

thanks...

I am all about a mini millie

I would most likely add one to the carry rotation.

If you are gonna do a pic for size comparison, wouldn't it make sense to have it with it's big brother instead of a coin

OK Sal, a Millie Jr in BG-42 with Compression Lock would only be about the best possible Spydie

150 pieces huh?

How about you tack a little extra $$ on each one for your favorite charity (the Childrens Hospital?)and offer em prepaid thru the Forums or SFO only?

Honestly most of the new offerings (Forum Military, Gunting, Chinook, the inlaid Natives) have not really thrilled me. And I do really love Spydies. But a Millie Jr in BG-42 with a Compression Lock has me reaching for my wallet already.

If you gave us a price I'm sure I would not be the only one calling SFO with my credit card tomorrow

I'm with lshay on this, a BG42 Military Jr. with compression lock and a donation to your favorite charity.

Sal,
I know it has been pushed back and there is no firm date on this knife, but would it be too optimistic to think it will come out this year?

I agree with Mundele, I like the shape of the Military, but it is simply too big. I would love to have a mini. Very cool idea.

Sal, I have forgotten, but what size is the Military Jr.? Thanks, it sure does sound nice!

Never mind, I answered my own question by going to the "Search" function. You have previously said that 3 1/4" is the smallest that you can make it and still have the choil big enough to allow for various hand grips. Damn DC and its 3" law! But I've said that before. I may go ahead and try one nayhow and to Hell with them, I'll carry it in God's free, more or less, commonwealth, Virginia where I carry my StarMate and other nice knives, even a Sifu.

Had to bring this back up. We need to convince Mr Glesser to sell some of the Military Jr's to Forumites

Have been discussing this matter with Sal several times. Last time around September 00.

He then said, that Spyderco has plans on starting manufacturing those "babies". The question then was, if the "baby" Military should be a diminutive copy of its "mother" or not.

After some brainstorming, there was a decision, that it probably can not be done due to the change of ergonomics. However the goal is keeping it as close as possible to the original look of the "big one".

Regards!
