Took some much-needed vacation and I'm spending the week with Tai Goo.

Yesterday was a lesson in sharpening, metallurgy, and other critical basics. I brought along a Dalton auto that used to piss me off because it arrived so dull from the factory. Now I've got the edge polished and so screaming sharp it'll make a fuzz stick out of a human hair.

Today was rough forging. I think we're making progress.

Have to say I love the low-tech approach. It lets me get away from machines, computers, and all that other crap that makes life suck sometimes.

Remember, this is rough-forged. There's still some work to be done (especially on the clip--I'm probably going to bring it back a bit) before we even get to heat treating it...

Sounds like fun man. If Tai Goo is anything like his knives, (of course he is!) I'm sure you're having a hoot! You have my envy bro.

Yeah...I was gonna say "what a great holiday". Snowed here last night and I'm stuck in the office dreaming of beating on steel.
