bali projects in the works?

Hey all,

I was just wondering how many bali projects are happening now? I remember reading about dale reif's new bali's and seeing a pretty great picture. Mer and Ocyrus mentioned that they were coming along, saw a nice picture of the blade prototype! Hmm, obviously there's the new tachyon blade profiles. How are these things doing? Are there any others?

It seems like a pretty great time for bali's! I have only recently started getting back into it, having been off and on since high school, although generally more off as I had a tendency to lose the bali's as I moved around and there wasn't this great community to help me along! But there definitely seems to be a lot more options now than there were.

well, you've mentioned a bunch of them already
try doing a search within this balisong forum on those names (tachyon, dale, gemini etc.), and you'd find some nice threads to look at.

oh i forgot...
there's also a lot of new nice stuff from benchmade, it seems. and also a lot of other companies, like advanced tech, swat etc.
looks like it's the bali season (hey, that's could be a new time of year, just like winter, summer, fall etc)

Too many for my wallet. Tachyon, Red 911 SWAT, and a BM31 on order. That is enough for this month. And I thought auto's were addicting, heck I only have one on order. But, at least I can point to Tony's latest post and show my wife that I am rather tame compaired to some. Thanks Tony.

But aside from all those mentioned, there's still the great Mer rehandles; all the old BM Custom bali bounty hunting that goes on (very expensive hobby, but every now nad then a great deal comes through); and a few unannounced surprises also in the works.

Ahh, it's those unannounced surprises I want to hear about. I wouldn't mind hearing any updates on the dale reif or the mer/ocyrus projects! Quite an exciting time these days, well... not so exciting for my bank.

I'm curious, too, where are the best hunting grounds for the old bm's and pacific cutlery's? Ebay? Thanks!

Even worse. So far, he's announced 2 different sizes of bali's; a 4" and a 3".

I have a few details about one 4" that Dale Reif will be making, but I think in it's case, a picture would be worth a thousand words (But it actually came about from a question I posted elsewhere on Bladeforums that he repsponded to. From there, it went to e-mail. And from e-mail....) Watch this space.
