"Bamboo" Lightfighter

I just finished this one today. Its light, quick and represents MANY FIRSTS for me in its construction, materials and techniques. The customer pretty much gave me artistic license to do whatever - don't you just love that ??!! :D

Specs- 8inch blade - 1075/L6 Raindrop pattern damascus by Damascus New Zealand http://www.damascus.co.nz . Fileworked "prespacer" or whatever you call it ... grooved guard, all blued mild steel fittings. Handle is stabilised Wavy Myrtle, carved and textured in a bamboo theme. Balances just 1/4inch in front of the guard. The handle shape tends to change appearance depending on which angle you're looking from. It took a lot of tweaking and experimentation to get the damascus to show properly.

Jason, that is an amazing knife! The carved handle is wonderful. Great job. The sculpted guard is eye-catching as well.

I love everything about this knife, Jason. It is as nice as any I have seen from you. That handle work isn't something you see every day.
 
Yet another beauty. That is some real pretty wood you got for the handle, and the carving is terrific. The rest of the knife is just as nice. Keep up the great work!

The handle is gorgeous. Since I love bamboo, all the more it appeals to me.

you really have some amazing natural design sense. You're obviously extremely technically proficient as well.

Now just make a folder. :)

I finally got round to completing the sheaths. Here are the pics. Just a basic friction fit Bowie style scabbard with a stud on the front and a high-ride belt loop on the back. The inlay is pythonskin. Thanks for looking. Jason.
