CJ says Buck is showing a first quarter profit for the first time in memory. Interesting and good to hear.

The 2011 112 Ranger Members Only Knife is a beauty and going for $180.00 (Mirror polished 420HC drop point w/gold BCCI etch, finger grooved, no nail nick, barehead frame, nickel bolster, buffalo and desert ironwood).

Impressive.

Article by our Chinese friend Xiaxiangyang. Amazing how someone from another culture could develop such a love for Buck knives.

Reports from the Pasadena and Eugene shows. A new BCCI 112 from Dave Yellowhorse. A red paperstone drop point N/S S30V "Using Knife" for BCCI members at $96. All you ever wanted to know about the 307 from Craig.

Nice article from Heath Stone on a 1950s......that's 1950s 105 with six spacers and a 6 and a half inch blade.

All kinds of interesting stuff!

Thanks for the heads up and the highlights. Will be looking for mine.

Let's see. I don't have a 112. I only have one mirror polish Buck. I love nickle bolsters and drop point blades and I'm pretty sure I like desert ironwood and buffalo. Humm, wonder if I should order something when I get my newsletter?

You can go on-line and see it now. Also, I saw they had 3 112's for sale in the Newsletter. The trouble is, I like them all. (Besides the one mentioned, they also have a S30V, red paperstone 112 and my super favorite of the 112's, a Wilde Bill Cody & David Yellowhorse Eagle Feather 112.)

I looked at it a little and I didn't see when the BCCI meeting is in Atlanta. I will read it more in depth, hopefully, it is in there some where.

didn't see when the BCCI meeting is in Atlanta.

Saturday, room 103, at noon.

And......sorry, Bill--I said the 112 is a Yellowhorse. No, it's a Cody and Yellowhorse collaboration (which should make it even more desirable) and (as I read it) they're only making 35 of them.

Got mine today, great read!

Little bummed that all the knives are 112's. However, I know the guys who are into them haven't gotten many in the past so it's a good thing. Hope they sell well.
Even I am tempted with the 112 paperstone user.

Got mine a while ago as well. While it is chocked full of good reading, and knives. I think I was most impressed with Xia's article about his love for Buck knives and what he has gone through collecting them.

Excellent article our Chinese Buck collector friend!:thumbup:

Mine arrived today. Looks like plenty of good articles. I'll for sure be getting the 2011 Paperstone 112 to go with last years 110. Last year the 110 was $80 so I was a little surprised that the smaller but otherwise identical 112 for this year will run $96. Still a good deal though but I may just opt for one this year instead of two. Wonder if these will be S30v marked this time around?

The 112 Eagle Feather looks great but it's not really my cup of tea either style or price wise. The Members Only 112 though is something I'm seriously considering. Price isn't too bad and the desert ironwood and buffalo are very nice. Wish it had upgraded steel but I doubt I'd be using it any way so mirror polish 420HC is probably the way to go. Thanks BCCI for another great newsletter and the opportunity for some wonderful knives!

Actually, it's a $25. increase from last year for the paperstone version. The $80. last year included shipping. The 112 has an additional $9. for shipping.

The 112 ironwood one has gone up $14. total from last year if you count shipping.

I don't have any 112's, since the 110 seems perfect for me, I never bothered with the "girly knife" 112. ;)

Now, that Yellowhorse - WBC collaboration would make a great gift for a girly girl, or at least a girly woman who appreciated such things. I gotta think about this....hmmmm.

I sure wish they'd get off the folding knife streak and do something like a Yellowhorse 120.

Love the purty gurly knives, too......but it's time for a spectacular fixed blade.

:)

My guess is for a BCCI 113 next year. My wish is for a BCCI 301 next year. But either or both would be good by me.

The BCCI 113 is a good guess......and I could live with that.

But a BIG fixed-blade sure would be nice.

Seems like we've had too many folders lately.

I agree that the next offering should be a fixed blade for a change. I'd like to see a tricked out 121 by David Yellowhorse, Leroy Remer or perhaps a cool collaboration between the two of them.

I got my newsletter today and it was a good read. Plus, I went ahead and ordered a 112 bare butt, paperstone. I liked the big brother so much that I didn't want to miss this one. DM

I haven't received my news letter yet, But have read it on the club member website. I'm going to try to pick up one of the user club member knives.

You should contact Larry O. or Bruce D. check for their e-mail address in back issues. DM
